Hey, I’m Sarah Belford

Coming from a small mountain town in northwestern British Columbia,

Sarah grew up looking at mountains and cultivated most of her passions through them. Between hiking and climbing in the summer, Splitboarding in the winter, and traveling overseas, it’s always been the mountains that draw her back to a place. Never one to shy away from trying something new, she has dabbled in many pursuits over the years. From competing in slopestyle snowboarding, coaching, photography, ski patrolling and working in forestry, to more recreational pursuits like bike touring, surfing around the pacific, living in New Zealand and Australia, climbing, and spearfishing, there isn’t much in the world that she doesn’t want to experience. Of course, one of the best parts about having a life spent outdoors is sharing those special places with friends, and showing them just how incredible they can be to anyone, no matter your background. This is where much of the joy of painting landscapes comes from for her, being able to capture the feeling of a place and share it with others in hopes of inspiring them to seek it out for themselves.

Working with acrylic on both traditional canvases and wood, Sarah takes her time with colour, shadow and fine detail to bring each piece as close to the true thing, and invoke the same feelings she has when looking at a stark peak, soft alpine sunrise, or endless ocean waves.
